The Ministry of Water and Electricity has commissioned Saudi Designers Consultants and Engineers to design a water treatment plant to produce drinking water from wells for Hafr Al-Bathn City with a capacity of 20,000 m3/day. The peak flow per phase has been fixed on 413 m3/sec (1487 m3/h).

KWT International, through their national representative, Soroof Aqua Solutions from Khobar, has been selected as supplier for all 12 penstocks. KWT chose to submit its successful 2008 design, the “KSA-MD-RVS” with non-rising stem, engineered to withstand a challenging 20 mwc (2.0 bar) of operating water pressure.
The installation supervision will be performed by SAS as part of their full scope of supply.
KWT is proud to be a partner of SAS in this project which is a first success after KWT Group was approved by the Ministry of Water and Electricity in the course of 2009.
